Returning in Sadness

If you visit my other blog, Still Somebody, you’ll see a photo memorializing my beloved husband Bob who died on November 13, 2008. My tears still flow for him, but with the passing of time, it’s getting a little easier. A bit of light is now coming through the pinhole….

L-o-n-g Time, No Post

My not posting here is due to being a caregiver for my husband, who has Alzheimer’s. His care is taking up more of my time, so there’s not much time for posting or corresponding. I invite you to visit my blog about the situation: http://stillsomebody.wordpress.com

No Need to Think

I found this excellent quote today:
“A sect or party is an elegant incognito devised to save a man from the vexation of thinking.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson, writer and philosopher (1803-1882)

SISU

Okay, okay, okay. The snow is here, it’s not going away, I might as well get used to it. So I did (more or less). I reached down inside and pulled out my SISU. Bring it on, Old Man Winter! I’m not part Finn for nothing, you know.

Dead of Winter

Poor Autumn. It didn’t get to go its full length this year. Old Man Winter, in some kind of rush to get his season started, dumped at least 10″ of snow on our area over the past few days, and in so doing, put an abrupt end to fall. It looks like the middle of winter out there, and felt like it, too, today. On the way back from town, the temp in our vehicle said 18 degrees (F). That’s just too cold for me, and it’s going to get colder yet when real winter sets in. An inconvenient truth here is that it’s too doggone snowy and cold already. Where is GLOBAL WARMING when we really need it?

Tiny Tale of Woe

The default point size for the default font for this theme is too small,
but it’s just too much bother to make it larger as I have done below. Also,
word wrap doesn’t always work. Oh, well, nothing’s perfect.

I could try a new theme, but it’s a slow process on dial-up. Someday when I move out of the boonies, I’ll have broadband!

Lightning Send to Blog

This is a test of Corel Lightning’s “Send to Blog” feature. It worked! Slick as can be.

Lightning is a cool, free program for note taking and much, much more. You can get it here: www.wordperfect.com/lightning.

URGENT Note to Mother Nature

NO MORE SNOW!

10″ IS ENOUGH ALREADY!

IT’S NOT EVEN OFFICIALLY WINTER YET!

I have to go out tomorrow, so lay off the white stuff.
